This week I’ve found myself fascinated with the origin of profanity. Of course I will be discussing profanity in general this Sunday night which is why I bring it up here for a little preview of what we’re going to talk about. Naturally the most interesting word of profanity is the word Fuck. It seems there are almost as many explanations for the term as there are ways to use it. The wonderful thing about the word fuck is that it can be used as a noun, a verb, an adjective, whatever you want and whatever you wish to convey. As usual it does have a lot to do with Puritans and ideas of what is wrong or bad versus what is considered good and pure. Although in my opinion, sex in all it’s glory is good and pure, never evil or wrong. Even if you have the most perverted kink possible, it’s still good and pure because it’s yours.
